TO KILL A BODY

“We’re all guinea pigs in the in the laboratory of God.
Humanity is just a work in progress.”
Tennessee Williams: Camino Real (1953)

To kill is to destroy life.

Can life really be destroyed?

In my spiritual quest, I’ve learned that a body is a frame which tries to hide hate, fear, anger, guilt, false love, and, certainly, Spirit. We can make the frame disappear, but not the content. This is another way of saying that ideas and thoughts come from a source beyond the body, and therefore undergo constant recycling. One life affects another life, and another, and another.

American scientist, David Bohm, called this recycling, “The Implicate Order.”
This concept brings up an important question:

WHAT MAKES US HUMAN? IS IT THE FRAME, CALLED “THE BODY,” OR IS IT THE CONSTANT RECYCLING OF IDEAS AND THOUGHTS?

Those of us who have seen movies, such as, “The Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” know how disfigured the Beast and the Hunchback look. But, then, as their stories, of love and understanding unfold, we change our minds. We forget about their looks. We see them as human.

There are animals who behave like humans. There are humans who behave like animals. It is all relative. The worst criminal on earth, has been called, “a wonderful human being” by his family.

It is an illusion to think that we can get rid of the content by making the frame disappear. Jesus Christ is, certainly, a great example. His life, in body form, was short. His life, as Spirit, is eternal. We are surrounded by illusions. Everything around us is a symbol of a much Higher Reality.

It seems that we are in desperate need of a new metaphor that will help us understand what it means to be human.

So many people worry about the disappearance of the human race by natural disasters, or other means. Atlantis, a continent that existed in the area known today as the Atlantic ocean, disappeared into the sea thousands of years ago. Plato, and other authors, wrote about it. But then, they say it is a legend. There are pyramids in Central America, the origins of which are unknown. Who built them? Where did these “builders” go?

ALL OF US ARE AFRAID TO BE STRIPPED OF OUR FRAMES. WE FEAR THERE WILL BE NOTHING TO LOOK AT BUT THE CONTENT, AND MOST OF US DO NOT WANT TO LOOK INWARDLY.

We find it painful to look at illusions, thinking they are reality. We, also, find it painful to realize that, in the end, there is nothing to fear: our True Self is beyond any frame and content.

Where would ideas and thoughts go, if the human race disappears? Ideas and thoughts do not need our bodies to exist. They do not need human bacteria either. The same source that implants them in us, implants them in other frames, such as, birds, plants, animals, robots, and others we’ve yet to find out.

Robots are, at present, laughed at. Soon, they will be feared, and hated.

We do not believe that robots can be as perfect, and as intelligent, as we are. But this is not what computer scientists think. They believe that robot intelligence will surpass ours this century.

I used to think that my nose was not only beautiful, but also useful; that was until I read the latest robot-nose news. I learned that there are advanced electronic noses that smell illness. But this is not all; in l977 a computer named, Deep Blue, beat chess champion Gary Kasparov. Another program composes music.

How can this be? How can a “machine” know the steps to play chess, and have the thoughts, feelings, and emotions to compose music?

The recycling goes on. Everything in the universe is in constant motion. We’ve learned from modern physics that all material things are connected at a level that we cannot understand. Everything is made up of particles that communicate with each other.

Until last century, only “saints” were supposed to have “light” around them. This is the type of light that cannot be seen with the human eye. It is the type of light that means power of thought, strength and energy of unknown sources. Only some artists, who were also visionaries, were able to paint such images. But, then, Kirlian photography was discovered. Now, we can see this invisible light around every individual, every object, bird, tree, etc.

IF COMPUTERS ARE PROGRAMMED BY HUMANS, SO ARE WE PROGRAMMED BY GENES, CHROMOSOMES, THE WORLD AROUND US, AND MUCH MORE THAT WE’VE YET TO FIND OUT.

You can destroy a frame, but you cannot destroy ideas and thoughts. Above all, you cannot destroy Spirit which makes life eternal, and is the universal force.

The man who was made in God’s image is the inner man,
the incorporeal, incorruptible, immortal one.
Origen (185-254) Holimy on Genesis All frames are to be respected.

Whatever frame you are in right now, love and respect it too.

The human body needs good care. It is like a garden. It needs to be carefully planted, watered and watched over. Never forget to cultivate your garden, and to allow your neighbors to cultivate theirs with love, tenderness, understanding, and appreciation.

Oneness will always exist. Oneness is immortal and beyond intelligence.
